In the regions of Kazakhstan, chemical processing against locust pests is ongoing. As of July 9, about 1.7 million hectares or 76.2% of the forecasted area have been processed. This year, it is planned to process 2.2 million hectares, which is 30% less than in 2024. This became possible due to the comprehensive work carried out with the support of the Government and significant improvements in the plant protection system.
To increase the effectiveness of the fight against locust pests, the "FITOCENTRE" application has been launched, and a partnership project is being implemented jointly with the FAO, aimed at using digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and drones.
