During a working visit to Dushanbe, Kazakhstan's Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov held a meeting with Tajikistan's Minister of Agriculture Kurbon Hakimzoda. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the agricultural sector, food security, and the development of trade and economic ties. By the end of 2025, the trade turnover of agro-industrial complex products between the two countries grew by 11.5% and reached USD 595 million. In the first quarter of 2026, the volume of mutual trade increased by 26.1% and amounted to USD 182 million.
The export base consists of wheat, flour, vegetable oils, barley, corn, meat products, and other goods. Kazakhstan expressed interest in joint projects on flour milling production, processing of livestock products, production of confectionery, vegetable oil, and juices, attracting Tajik investments. The parties plan to sign a Roadmap to intensify agricultural cooperation in the second half of this year and strengthen partnership in science, education, and technology.
