Development of Fisheries in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan's fisheries sector celebrated with investments of 50 billion tenge in 95 projects over five years. Future plans include 41 projects worth 60 billion tenge to boost fish production and processing.

A ceremonial event dedicated to the Day of Fisheries Workers was held at the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan. Vice Minister of Agriculture Yermek Kenzhekhanuly emphasized that fisheries are a strategically important sector of the agro-industrial complex. Over the past five years, about 50 billion tenge in investments have been attracted to the industry, and 95 investment projects have been implemented. The state has introduced support measures, including investment subsidies and preferential lending.

For the period 2026–2030, a pool of 41 investment projects with a total value of about 60 billion tenge has been formed. Their implementation will increase fish farming volumes and expand fish product processing.
