The Food Corporation, Kazakhstan's national grain operator, has tripled its forward purchase of oilseeds. Forward contracts signed with farmers for 2026 cover 94,900 tons of sunflower, oilseed flax, and rapeseed, up from 36,000 tons in 2025. The breakdown includes 37,800 tons of sunflower seeds, 51,500 tons of oilseed flax, and 5,600 tons of rapeseed. The corporation plans to provide farmers with 65.7 billion tenge in financing after contract execution and final payments.
In the first half of the year, it transferred 51.6 billion tenge to farm accounts. Under the direct procurement program, farms sold 191,800 tons of grain and oilseeds to the corporation, double the 92,900 tons sold last year. The corporation transferred 20.3 billion tenge under direct procurement agreements. Additionally, 172 agricultural enterprises participated in the forward financing program for spring field work, signing contracts for 471,000 tons of grain and oilseed products.
The corporation allocated 31.3 billion tenge in advance payments, with total financing expected to exceed 40 billion tenge after harvest. Chairman Asylkhan Dzhuvashev stated that state investments in the corporation's capital operate on a revolving principle, allowing annual support without additional budget burden.
