The production of greenhouse vegetables in Russia has increased by 4.8% since the beginning of the year, to 923 thousand tons. The most notable growth is demonstrated by tomato production, which has increased by 10.2%, to 377.8 thousand tons. The cucumber harvest has grown to 523.8 thousand tons. The development of greenhouse vegetable production is facilitated by a set of state support measures, including subsidies for compensation of part of the costs for payment of interest on loans and reimbursement of part of direct costs for creation and modernization of greenhouse complexes.
