Since its establishment, the Zhetisu region has consistently reported growth in livestock sector indicators. According to the regional Department of Agriculture, meat production has increased by 11.6%, milk output by 5.8%, and egg production by 7.7% over the past four years. The sector currently supports over 3,000 farms, with approximately 1,000 focused on breeding cattle. The total livestock inventory has reached nearly 2.6 million head, comprising 541,000 cattle (Cattle), 1.7 million sheep and goats (Small Ruminants), and over 228,000 horses.
For 2026, officials plan to expand the herd by 9.3% and achieve production targets of 121,000 tons of meat, 232,000 tons of milk, and 350 million eggs. Since the beginning of 2026, 19,700 head of cattle have been fattened across 72 feeding facilities with a capacity of 29,300 head, yielding 23,400 tons of live-weight meat. A notable example of development is the Kuralay Family Farm, established in 1996 with 150 sheep and now managing 2,700 sheep, approximately 100 head of cattle, 7,000 hectares of land, and annual fodder cultivation on 500 hectares. NatAgro LLP maintains a herd of around 400 cattle of various breeds utilizing Australian farming technology.
Farmers highlight the positive impact of state support, while selective breeding efforts currently operate at a 27–30% efficiency rate.
