Kazakhstan Oilseed Stocks at 1.48 Million Tons

As of July 1, Kazakhstan's oilseed reserves totaled 1.478 million tons, with 90.9% designated for food processing. Sunflower and flax account for nearly 85% of total stocks.

The National Statistics Bureau reported oilseed stocks in Kazakhstan at 1,478,000 tons as of July 1. Of this, 1,343,000 tons (90.9%) are for food, 84,000 tons (5.7%) for forage, and 50,000 tons (3.4%) for seed. Sunflower leads with 766,400 tons (51.8%), of which over 729,000 tons are food reserves. Flaxseed follows at 483,700 tons (32.7%), with 425,000 tons in the food fraction.

Other crops: rapeseed 126,000 tons (124,600 tons food), safflower 49,000 tons, soybeans 40,000 tons (32,900 tons feed), mustard 10,000 tons, camelina 537 tons, cotton 87 tons, sesame 0.6 tons. The data indicates high self-sufficiency in raw materials for vegetable oil production, supporting domestic food security and export potential for oil and meal. Seed reserves at 3.4% suggest most stocks have been used for sowing.
