Altai Krai harvests record 6.3 million tons of grain in 2025

Altai Krai achieved record grain (6.3M tons) and oilseed (3.2M tons) harvests in 2025. The agriculture minister toured farms using no-till methods and saw a Russian agrodrone demonstration.

Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut visited Altai Krai, where she reviewed the progress of harvesting and the operation of agricultural enterprises. The region is the leading agricultural center of the Siberian Federal District, accounting for over 30% of grain and legume production in the district and more than 50% of oilseed production. In 2025, the region achieved a record grain harvest of 6.3 million tons, including 3.8 million tons of wheat. The oilseed harvest also set a record at 3.2 million tons.

Additionally, the region is the sole producer of sugar beets in the Siberian Federal District: in 2025, the harvest reached 1.5 million tons. During the trip, the minister visited a farm that grows sunflowers, lentils, flax, and soybeans on over 35,000 hectares, 95% of which have been converted to a no-till farming system. The operation of a Russian-made agricultural drone, "Pchela," was also demonstrated for precise application of plant protection products with a payload of up to 50 kg.
