The Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University (Seifullin University) has inaugurated a "Waste Management" laboratory. The project was implemented jointly with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA). The ceremony was attended by the First Lady of Turkey, Emine Erdoğan, as well as representatives from relevant Kazakh ministries and university leadership. Emine Erdoğan noted that the laboratory will pave the way for initiatives in zero waste, sustainable agriculture, waste management, and the circular economy.
Chairman of the Board – Rector, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor Kanat Tireuov, stated that the laboratory's opening expands the university's capabilities in training specialists, developing applied research, and implementing environmental solutions. The laboratory will contribute to practice-oriented student training in ecology, natural resource management, and agroecosystems, including separate collection, sorting, processing, and disposal of waste.
