Food Corporation Ready to Increase Food Supplies to Tajikistan

Kazakhstan's Food Corporation and Tajikistan's State Material Reserves Agency agreed to boost food supplies, with Kazakhstan as the main wheat and flour supplier. Tajikistan plans to import up to 1.3 million tons of grain this season and invited Kazakh representatives for infrastructure talks, while both sides confirmed long-term cooperation and a future grain contract.

The Food Corporation and the Agency for State Material Reserves under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan have agreed to expand cooperation in the field of food supplies. During a meeting in Astana, the parties noted that Kazakhstan is the main supplier of wheat and flour to Tajikistan, where domestic production covers about 40% of the demand. In 2025, supplies of Kazakh wheat reached a record 1.2 million tons over the past five years. The Director of the Agency for State Material Reserves of Tajikistan, Nurmakhmad Akhmadzoda, stated that in the current season, the country plans to import up to 1.3 million tons of grain products.

He also invited representatives of the Food Corporation to visit Dushanbe to familiarize themselves with grain storage infrastructure and discuss possible participation in the construction of new elevators and processing facilities. The First Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC "NC "Food Corporation," Ildar Ismagulov, expressed readiness to expand cooperation. The parties confirmed their commitment to long-term collaboration and agreed to work on signing a grain supply contract.
