A fish farming facility worth 450 million tenge has been commissioned in the Zhambyl district of the Almaty region. The investor of the project is TekhnoSnab 2002. The facility plans to grow up to 200 tons of marketable fish and 2 million fry per year. The total area of the facility is 1,500 square meters.
The project is focused on the cultivation, production, and subsequent processing of sturgeon species and trout. Trout fry have already been introduced into the facility's pools. The breeding of sturgeon species will be organized in the next phase. The enterprise has implemented a closed water supply system with multi-stage filtration, ozonation, and ultraviolet disinfection.
In the region, 53 farms are engaged in commercial fish farming, with a total production capacity of 11,000 tons of products per year. Since January 1, 2026, new state support mechanisms in the field of fish farming have been introduced in Kazakhstan, providing special subsidies for the development of aquaculture.
