Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Yermek Kenzhekhanuly, made a working trip to the Almaty region and the Zhetysu region. He reviewed the implementation of investment projects in the agro-industrial complex (AIC), the progress of spring field work, and protective measures against locust pests. In the Almaty region, the LLP "Genofond" presented a project for the construction of a dairy farm for 800 head, which is expected to increase milk production and strengthen the raw material base for processing. In the city of Alatau, the deputy minister inspected the construction site of a snack product plant by PepsiCo Central Asia.
In Konayev, LLP "Kapshagay Bidai Onimderi" continues the modernization of capacities for processing grain and oilseed crops. In the Zhetysu region, in the Kerbulak district, LLP "AgroHolding Zhetysu" is implementing a project to introduce water-saving technologies worth 4.7 billion tenge on an area of 1.4 thousand hectares. Approximately 1.2 thousand hectares have been sown with alfalfa, barley, corn, and sunflower. In the Koksu district, reconstruction of the Koksu sugar plant is underway, costing 8 billion tenge.
By 2027, its capacity is planned to be increased to 500 thousand tons of products per year. The total sown area in the Zhetysu region in 2025 will exceed 512 thousand hectares. Farmers have increased areas under grain corn. Spring sowing of spring crops is 94.6% complete.
Protective treatments against locusts have been carried out on an area of nearly 13 thousand hectares. Following the trip, the deputy minister instructed to ensure the timely completion of spring field work.
