According to operational data from regional administrations in Kazakhstan, agricultural crops have been sown on an area of 8.9 million hectares as of the current date. Grains are planted on 5.5 million hectares, oilseeds on 2.3 million hectares, fodder crops on 642,000 hectares, cotton on 166,000 hectares, and sugar beets on 22,000 hectares. The sowing campaign is active in major grain-producing regions: 2 million hectares have been sown in Akmola Region, and 1.3 million hectares each in Kostanay and North Kazakhstan Regions. In the southern and southeastern regions, work is nearing completion: 98.1% complete in Zhambyl Region, 97.5% in Zhetysu, and 96.1% in Almaty Region.
Agricultural formations have 133,900 tractors, 5,600 sowing complexes, and 71,400 seeders. The supply of mineral fertilizers remains a key focus. For 2026, the fertilizer application plan is 2.3 million tons. Contracts have been signed for the supply of 1.4 million tons, with 1.2 million tons already shipped.
Local budgets have allocated 56.3 billion tenge for subsidizing fertilizer costs.
