90 Agricultural Projects to Be Implemented in Abai Region by 2031

The Abai region is executing a comprehensive agricultural development strategy under a national directive to double farm output, featuring 90 investment projects worth 254 billion tenge focused on poultry, dairy, and processing facilities to boost production, ensure food security, and generate employment through 2031.

As part of the Head of State's directive to double the volume of agricultural gross output, a large-scale agro-industrial complex development strategy is being implemented in the region. Key priority areas include the development of the meat cluster, poultry farming, the construction of dairy farms, and the efficient use of irrigated lands. Ninety investment initiatives totaling 254 billion tenge have been included in the regional investment portfolio through 2031. Among these projects is the construction of a poultry farm in the Beskaragay district with an annual capacity of 150 million eggs and an investment volume of 5.5 billion tenge.

Commissioning of the facility is scheduled for later this year. Special attention is being paid to the development of dairy cattle breeding. Accordingly, dairy farms are planned in the Zharkent district for 600 head and in the Beskaragay district for 1,200 head. In collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a Roadmap for Major Investment Projects is being implemented.

Nineteen projects worth 112.5 billion tenge are planned for implementation by 2029. This year, the commissioning of six facilities is expected, which will create over 400 new jobs. Several projects have already moved into the practical implementation phase. Notably, in February of this year, the Agroleader KAZ LLP plant for processing and cleaning legumes and other agricultural crops, valued at 4 billion tenge, was commissioned.

In the near future, several significant projects are scheduled for implementation. These include the construction of a refined sunflower oil production plant with an annual capacity of 72,000 tons at Qazaq Astyq Group LLP, with investments of 8.3 billion tenge, as well as a meat processing plant at Eurasia Agro Semey LLP with an annual output of 11,400 tons and investments of 7.7 billion tenge. The implementation of these projects will significantly strengthen the industry's production capacity, ensure food security, and create new job opportunities.
