Representatives of government agencies and business circles took part in the Kazakhstan-Latvia business forum. Vice Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Yermek Kenzhekhanuly noted the positive dynamics of cooperation in the agricultural sector. The trade turnover of agricultural products between the countries in 2025 amounted to $51.4 million. Special attention was paid to logistics cooperation and the transit of Kazakh crop products through the Baltic region.
Latvia's ports remain an important transport corridor: in 2025, the total volume of shipments through them amounted to 750 thousand tons. Since the beginning of 2026, 250 thousand tons have been exported. Kazakhstan presented opportunities for modernizing the agro-industrial complex, including deep processing and digitalization. Latvian investors were introduced to state support measures: investment subsidies, preferential financing, and preferences for localizing export-oriented production.
Promising areas for joint ventures include dairy and meat livestock farming, food production, the fishing industry, storage and transportation of food, and the development of logistics hubs. The forum concluded with B2B meetings.
