The sowing campaign continues in Kazakhstan. According to operational data from regional akimats, agricultural crops have been sown on an area of 16.3 million hectares, which is 77% of the forecasted areas. Grains are planted on 11.2 million hectares, oilseeds on 3.6 million hectares, fodder crops on 973,200 hectares, cotton on 167,600 hectares, potatoes on 116,900 hectares, vegetable crops on 112,000 hectares, melons on 81,100 hectares, and sugar beets on 22,000 hectares. The sowing is most intensive in the main grain-producing regions: 4.1 million hectares sown in Akmola Region, 3.7 million hectares in Kostanay Region, and 2.7 million hectares in North Kazakhstan Region.
Over 133,900 tractors, about 5,600 high-performance sowing complexes, 71,400 seeders, and 188,500 tillage implements are involved in the campaign. Technical support for farmers is provided by 70 service centers.
