Kazakhstan's Minister of Agriculture, Aidarbek Saparov, held a meeting with Iran's Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, Seyed Mohammad Atabak. The parties discussed expanding cooperation in the agro-industrial complex, developing mutual trade, and investment interaction. By the end of 2025, the trade turnover of agricultural products between the countries increased by 55.8%, reaching $342 million, which accounted for 79% of the total bilateral trade volume. Exports of Kazakh agricultural products rose by 97% to $238.5 million.
Grain shipments more than doubled, reaching 1.1 million tons worth $225.3 million. Special attention was paid to grain exports to Iran, as well as increasing supplies of beef and lamb that meet international veterinary and halal standards. The potential for supplying vegetable oils and other food products was also highlighted. The Iranian side confirmed its interest in expanding trade and economic cooperation, increasing trade turnover, developing logistics routes, and implementing joint projects in the processing sector.
Kazakhstan invited Iranian investors to projects involving deep processing of grains and oilseeds.
