The Ministry of Energy has announced the price of subsidized diesel fuel for farmers for the sowing season. At the beginning of the year, the Ministries of Energy and Agriculture approved a schedule for the delivery of 402,000 tons of diesel fuel. The Ministry of Energy's recommended price is 263 tenge per liter to the destination station in the regions, including VAT. The final price is determined by regional operators and may be 281 tenge per liter, which is 49 tenge, or 15%, lower than average retail prices.
Diesel fuel for the sowing season will be delivered from February 1 to June 30. Additional measures have been implemented to ensure transparency in distribution and control of diesel fuel movement, including separate PIN codes, a yellow, blue, and red color system for fuel, and a separate virtual diesel fuel warehouse in the electronic invoicing system. The Ministry of Energy noted that these measures have reduced the volume of diesel fuel misuse from 729,000 tons to 602,000 tons, a 21% reduction.
