Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut held a working meeting with the Governor of the Rostov Region, Yuri Slyusar. The parties discussed the development of the region's agro-industrial complex and state support for farmers. The Rostov Region is among the leading food exporters. The Ministry of Agriculture allocated nearly 5 billion rubles this year to support the region's agro-industrial complex.
The region is one of Russia's largest grain producers. By the end of 2025, the level of self-sufficiency in seeds for major agricultural crops in the region reached almost 84%. Spring sowing is in an active phase, with the total sown area projected at about 5 million hectares. In the food industry, growth was noted in the production of drinking milk, meat semi-finished products, butter, bread, and bakery products.
Issues related to the development of the reclamation complex, rural areas, and agricultural education were also discussed.
