On May 29, at a meeting of the Board of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the results of 2025 were summarized. Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev reported that industry financing exceeded 650 billion rubles. Agricultural production grew by almost 5%, and the third-largest grain harvest in history was collected. Raw milk production increased, and stable output of finished products was ensured.
The domestic market is fully supplied with food products, and the targets of the Food Security Doctrine have been exceeded. Minister Oksana Lut noted that crop farming became the main driver of growth. The harvest of grain legumes exceeded 8 million tons, making Russia the largest producer among exporting countries. In livestock farming, the average milk yield per cow increased by 4.4%.
The catch of aquatic biological resources amounted to 4.7 million tons, with herring catch reaching a record, pollock achieving its best result in 25 years, and Pacific salmon seeing a 43% increase. Aquaculture in the first quarter of 2026 grew by more than 20%. Over the past decade, exports of agricultural products have nearly tripled to $41.6 billion. In 2025, shipments exceeded 83 million tons.
Russia maintained its place among the top five largest food exporters, leading in wheat, frozen fish, sunflower oil, and buckwheat. The share of high-value-added products reached almost half of exports. In 2026, agricultural exports grew by 22.5% compared to the same period, to about $16 billion. The level of technological independence within the national project "Technological Support for Food Security" increased to 57.8%, with a target of 66.7% by 2030.
