On the sidelines of the 5th All-Russian Grain Forum, a meeting took place between Russian Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut and Egyptian Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk. The parties discussed the dynamics of bilateral trade in agricultural products. During January-April 2026, the volume of mutual trade increased by more than 15%. Russia traditionally exports grain, oil and fat products, as well as legumes to Egypt.
The possibility of increasing supplies of mineral fertilizers, trade in which is also showing positive dynamics, was discussed. Russia, in turn, imports fruits, vegetables, and berries from Egypt. Oksana Lut noted an interest in maintaining a high level of trade relations and increasing grain exports. The development of exchange trading was identified as a promising area.
Joint investment projects and cooperation in the fields of crop production, animal husbandry, land reclamation, water desalination, genetics, as well as the export of fertilizers and plant protection products were also discussed.
