Russian Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut held a working meeting with Acting Governor of Belgorod Region Alexander Shuvaev. The parties discussed the development of the region's agro-industrial complex, support for agricultural enterprises in border areas, implementation of projects in rural territories, and workforce training for the industry. Oksana Lut noted that last year, agricultural production growth in Belgorod Region exceeded 5%. The main contribution came from crop farming: the region harvested a high yield of oilseeds and maintained stable grain production.
Special attention was given to the situation in livestock farming, particularly in border areas. The Ministry of Agriculture is ready to provide support to the region in this area. The development of rural territories was also discussed. Over six years, about 2.5 billion rubles were allocated to the region for rural infrastructure support under the state program KRST.
Priorities include the development of agrotechnology classes and the work of Belgorod State Agrarian University, which participates in the Priority-2030 program.
