700,000 hectares treated against locusts in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan continues its locust control campaign, treating 700,000 hectares (31.8% of the plan) across 13 regions with 236 sprayers, with no crop damage reported.

In Kazakhstan, a campaign to protect agricultural lands from gregarious locust pests continues. Protective measures are being carried out in 13 regions. Chemical treatment has been applied to 700,000 hectares of land, accounting for 31.8% of the planned volume of 2.2 million hectares. A total of 236 units of specialized spraying equipment have been deployed.

The highest work rates have been observed in the Turkestan, Zhambyl, and Ulytau regions. According to monitoring data, no damage to agricultural crops has been recorded. Treatments are ongoing.
