22,000 hectares of unused agricultural land seized in Akmola region

The Akmola region seized 22,254 hectares of unused agricultural land, returning it to state ownership after a court ruling.

The Department of Land Resource Management of the Akmola region, under the Committee for Land Resource Management of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, returned 22,254 hectares of agricultural land to state ownership. The plot in the Birzhan sal district, allocated for a farming enterprise, was not used for its intended purpose. The fact was established during an unscheduled inspection. The land user failed to comply with the order to develop the land.

The specialized inter-district economic court of the Akmola region upheld the department's claim for compulsory seizure of the plot. Efforts to identify unused agricultural land and return it to the state fund continue.
