An international forum on "Reducing Post-Harvest Losses: Improving the Efficiency of the Food Supply Chain" was held in the Turkish Republic as part of the "Zero Waste" initiative. Russia was represented by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Maxim Borovoy. He noted that a comprehensive approach is necessary to reduce losses in the agricultural sector, including the modernization of infrastructure, the introduction of modern storage and transportation technologies, as well as the development of digital solutions. In particular, modern storage technologies, digital temperature and humidity monitoring systems, and grain coolers are being introduced in grain production.
The Russian Ministry of Agriculture has approved a roadmap to reduce losses in key processes, which includes staff training. As part of the forum, a working meeting was held between Borovoy and Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumakli. According to the results of 2025, trade between the countries grew by 5.7%, with Russian exports increasing by 9.2%. The parties noted the prospects for expanding supplies of Russian grain and oilseed products, as well as mineral fertilizers.
