On June 9, 2026, a working meeting was held at the Russian Ministry of Agriculture between Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil, Luis Rua. The parties discussed promising areas of cooperation in the agribusiness sector. Russian-Brazilian cooperation is developing rapidly. Last year, Russia became the leader in fertilizer supplies to Brazil, increasing exports by 11%.
This year, the trade turnover of agribusiness products is also showing growth: Russia has increased supplies of fish and wheat gluten. Potential for expanding exports of dairy, meat, and other products was noted. Breeding and seed production were identified as promising areas, including joint work on creating highly productive varieties and hybrids of agricultural crops resistant to diseases, pests, and adverse climatic factors. Lut confirmed readiness to expand cooperation in livestock and poultry farming, as well as to conduct joint fundamental research.
