At a board meeting of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan chaired by Minister Aidarbek Saparov, the development of the processing sector of the agro-industrial complex was discussed. The Minister stated that the goal is to increase the share of processed products in the agro-industrial complex to 70% and ramp up the output of high value-added products. Vice Minister Yermek Kenzhekhanuly reported on current results. Over 2024–2025, 196 processing enterprises received concessional financing to replenish working capital totaling 131 billion tenge.
In 2026, about 100 billion tenge is allocated for these purposes. In 2025, 53 investment projects worth 120.4 billion tenge were launched. Food production volume reached 3.9 trillion tenge (+8.1%). For January–April 2026, production amounted to 1.4 trillion tenge (+14.4% compared to the same period in 2025).
Fixed capital investments in the sector exceeded 389 billion tenge, more than doubling. Exports of processed products totaled $3.6 billion, accounting for 51.4% of total agro-industrial exports. Special attention is given to deep grain processing, oil and fat, and sugar industries, as well as modernization of dairy and meat processing enterprises. Kazakhstan maintains a leading position in flour exports and is among the largest exporters of vegetable oil.
The Minister instructed to ensure the achievement of established targets for growth in food production and increase in the share of processing.
