Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut visited the Smolensk Region on June 10, 2026, where she held a working meeting with Governor Vasily Anokhin. The parties discussed the development of the region's agro-industrial complex, the progress of seasonal field work, support measures, and the implementation of investment projects. According to last year's results, agricultural production in the region increased by 4.7%. The Smolensk Region achieved record harvests of grain, flax, and rapeseed.
For 2026, the region is allocated over 1.5 billion rubles in federal support. The governor noted that the annual increase in sown areas amounts to about 30,000 hectares. More than 20 major investment projects with a total investment of 25.6 billion rubles are nearing completion. During the visit, the minister visited the Gagarin-Ostankino enterprise, which produces sausage products and meat delicacies.
The company is building a new production facility for smoked products and a dormitory for employees.
