At the phytosanitary control post "Nur Zholy", inspectors from the KGI in the AIC prevented the import of two batches of infected quarantine products from China, with a total weight of 39.52 tons. The oriental fruit moth was found in a batch of peaches (19 tons), and the golden potato nematode was detected in a batch of carrots (20 tons). All infected products have been returned to China. Administrative cases have been initiated against the cargo owners.
The department notes that the entry of these quarantine objects into the country poses a threat to food security and could lead to crop losses for local producers. Phytosanitary control at the border has been strengthened.
