The Government's decree has increased the import customs duties on supplies of palm oil and its fractions to Russia from unfriendly states, with the exception of Hungary and Slovakia, to 35%. Previously, the rate of duties on this product was up to 5%. Deputy Minister of Agriculture Maxim Borovoy noted that the decision was made in response to the illegal sanctions by unfriendly states and will not affect the cost of finished products. The only consumers of palm oil from unfriendly countries were two Russian enterprises, which are now reorienting to alternative supply options.
This decision will contribute to the development of domestic production of oilseed products and increase their share in the domestic market.
