Onion and cabbage harvesting begins in Turkestan region

Harvesting of onions and cabbage has started in Turkestan region, with 900 hectares of onions yielding an expected 25,200 tons and 616 hectares of cabbage yielding about 14,600 tons, supported by good weather and agrotechnics.

In the Sairam district of the Turkestan region, the harvesting campaign for early vegetable crops has begun. Producers have started gathering onions and are completing preparations for the mass harvesting of cabbage. The sown area for onions this year amounted to 900 hectares. With an average yield of 28 tons per hectare, it is planned to harvest about 25.2 thousand tons of produce.

Cabbage is planted on 616 hectares. According to preliminary forecasts, the average yield will be 237 centners per hectare, which will allow obtaining approximately 14.6 thousand tons. Farms are finalizing preparations for harvesting equipment, logistics, and are attracting seasonal workers. Farmers note that favorable weather conditions and timely agrotechnical measures contribute to the formation of a good harvest.
