Kazakhstan’s Minister of Agriculture, Aidarbek Saparov, and the President of the Iranian food holding company Solico Group, Gholam Ali Soleimani, signed an investment agreement to build a cheese-making plant in the Almaty region. The facility will have a production capacity of 155,000 tons of products per year, with an investment volume of 35.2 billion tenge. Construction and installation work is already underway. The completion of construction and commissioning of the plant are planned for 2029.
According to the agreement, the investor commits to creating at least 400 permanent jobs, organizing training for Kazakh specialists, and transferring technology. Between 2028 and 2038, the company plans to allocate approximately 50 million tenge annually to social initiatives in the region. The agreement includes a package of state preferences, including the provision of engineering infrastructure. Minister Saparov noted that in 2025, cheese and cottage cheese production in Kazakhstan increased by 13.1%.
The President of Solico Group expressed interest in expanding its presence in Kazakhstan, including projects for potato processing and baby food production.
