Meeting of the BRICS Ministers of Agriculture

The 16th Meeting of the BRICS Ministers of Agriculture was held in India, discussing sustainable development, food security, and innovation, with Russia increasing its presence in international food markets.

On June 13, in India, the 16th Meeting of the BRICS Ministers of Agriculture took place. The Russian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister Maxim Markovich. The key topics were sustainable development of the agricultural sector, strengthening food security, supporting farmers, and introducing innovations. Russia has expanded its presence in international food markets, occupying a significant place in ensuring global food security.

The trade turnover of agricultural products between Russia and the BRICS countries increased by more than 5% last year, and this positive trend continues in 2026. A ministerial dialogue also took place on the topic "Small Farm Holdings, Women and Youth: Ensuring the Future of Food Security".
