The production of greenhouse vegetables in Russia has increased by 4.4% since the beginning of the year. As of June 16, more than 809 thousand tons of products have been harvested in the organized sector. The main volume of production is accounted for by greenhouse cucumbers. The leaders in closed-ground vegetable growing are the Moscow, Lipetsk, Voronezh, Kaluga, and Volgograd regions, as well as the Stavropol and Krasnodar territories.
A set of measures is in place to develop this area, including subsidizing interest rates and supporting projects that use dosvetka technology. Additionally, the sowing of open-ground vegetables and potatoes is ongoing in the country, with work carried out on an area of over 420 thousand hectares.
