Valmont localizes production of irrigation machines in Kazakhstan

Valmont Industries is localizing irrigation machine production in Kazakhstan, with final-stage assembly at JSC "Imstalkon" and component agreements to boost localization, aiming to irrigate 25,000 hectares.

Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin held a meeting with a delegation from Valmont Industries, led by Regional Vice President for Eurasia and Latin America Philipp Schmidt-Holzmann. The parties discussed the localization of production of VALLEY/Valmont Industries irrigation machines. The project is in its final stage. Production is organized on the basis of JSC "Imstalkon", where infrastructure for assembly has been prepared.

Agreements have been concluded with Kazakhstani enterprises for the manufacture and galvanization of components, increasing the level of localization. In the Karaganda region alone, a portfolio of projects has been formed for the production of about 250 irrigation machines, which will provide irrigation for approximately 25,000 hectares. Zhumangarin noted that expanding irrigated land is a priority of state policy in the agro-industrial complex. According to him, localization will reduce the delivery time of equipment to farmers.

Following the meeting, the Ministry of Agriculture was instructed to continue work on deepening localization and expanding access to irrigation equipment.
