Russia and Cambodia Sign Memorandum on Cooperation in Agriculture

Russia and Cambodia signed an agricultural cooperation memorandum in Kazan, covering trade, fertilizers, and scientific collaboration.

On June 18, 2026, in Kazan, on the sidelines of the Russia-ASEAN summit, a meeting was held between the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Russian-Cambodian Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation — Russian Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia Prak Sokhonn. The parties discussed expanding trade in agricultural products. Oksana Lut stated Russia's interest in diversifying exports and increasing trade volumes with Cambodia. She noted the growing demand of Cambodian farmers for mineral fertilizers and expressed readiness to work on supplies.

Also discussed were supplies of plant protection products, veterinary drugs, and vaccines. Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries of Cambodia. The document provides for the development of mutual trade, cooperation in agricultural education, scientific and technical fields, breeding, genetics, and soil resource management.
