Completion of 34 Agricultural Scientific Programs in Kazakhstan

The implementation of 34 agricultural scientific programs in Kazakhstan is nearing completion, with a focus on developing new crop varieties, improving animal husbandry technologies, and innovating agricultural product processing.

An international scientific and practical conference "Development of Agricultural Science and Scientific Support of the Agro-Industrial Complex of Kazakhstan: Theory, Methodology, Practice" was held in Almaty. Vice Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Azat Sultanov reported that in 2024-2026, within the framework of program-targeted financing, 34 scientific and technical programs are being implemented at a cost of 9.6 billion tenge annually. It is expected to create new varieties and hybrids of crops, improve technologies in animal husbandry, and develop innovations in the processing of agricultural products. Currently, the Ministry of Agriculture is forming scientific and technical tasks for 2027-2029, which are under consideration.

The participants discussed the development of drought-resistant varieties, the introduction of innovations in animal husbandry, ensuring veterinary safety, and managing land and water resources in the context of climate change.
