A scientific and practical seminar on modern technologies for increasing the productivity of grain crops was held in the Esik district of the Zhetysu region at the PSC "Birlık" base. The event was organized with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken", scientists, and agricultural producers. The key result was the demonstration of PSC "Birlık"'s experience, where the yield of winter crops exceeded 100 centners per hectare this year thanks to systematic scientific support. Particular attention was paid to the technology of obtaining two harvests per year on irrigated land using early-ripening varieties.
During the field inspection, modern irrigation methods were presented, including discrete (pulse) irrigation. According to experts, the use of this technology saves up to 40% of water resources. Approaches to growing corn with hybrids of different maturity groups for rational distribution of load on water sources were also considered. Scientists from the Kazakh Research Institute of Agriculture and Crop Production expressed interest in further studying the presented experience for its scaling up in the country's agricultural sector.
