Kazakhstan Launches Livestock Subsidized Lending Programs

Kazakhstan launches subsidized livestock lending programs with low interest rates and expanded coverage for various animal husbandry sectors.

In Kazakhstan, as part of the Comprehensive Livestock Development Plan, a new subsidized financing credit product called "Zhailau" has been launched. The program supports the establishment of farms with a capacity of at least 300 head of cattle or 1,000 head of small livestock. Terms: annual interest rate not exceeding 6%, loan term up to 10 years, amount up to 350 million tenge for cattle and up to 200 million tenge for small livestock. Simultaneously, the scope of subsidized financing under the "Igilik" and "Bereke" programs, as well as the "Working Capital Replenishment" direction, has been expanded.

The programs now apply to sheep breeding, horse breeding, camel breeding, beekeeping, pig farming, and deer farming. The "Igilik" program: acquisition of imported cattle starting from 100 head or small livestock from 500 head, as well as imported or domestic breeding stock of horses, camels, pigs, bees, and deer. Interest rate not exceeding 6%, loan term up to 7 years. The "Bereke" program: acquisition of imported cattle starting from 500 head or small livestock from 1,000 head.

Interest rate not exceeding 6%, loan term up to 7 years. The "Working Capital Replenishment" direction provides financing for feed, fuel and lubricants, wages, veterinary drugs, and spare parts. Interest rate not exceeding 5%, loan term up to 12 months. Financing channels have been expanded by involving regional agricultural cooperatives.
