In Kazakhstan, applications for insuring grain and oilseed crops against the risk of excessive soil moisture during the harvest campaign are ongoing. Applications for concluding an insurance contract can be submitted until June 30, 2026, via the Kezekte.kz platform. Insurance coverage is available for farmers in the Abai Region, Ulytau Region, Akmola, Aktobe, Atyrau, East Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Kostanay, Pavlodar, and North Kazakhstan regions. The insurance coverage period runs from August 15 to October 14, 2026, and covers risks associated with excessive soil moisture during the harvest period.
All procedures—from submitting an application and concluding a contract to receiving insurance payouts—are carried out electronically through the Qalqan agricultural insurance information system on the Kezekte.kz platform. An electronic digital signature is required for participation. The cost of the insurance policy for farmers is reduced by 80% thanks to government subsidies: the farmer pays only 20% of the full insurance cost.
