At the "Export to China" forum as part of the "China-Eurasia" exhibition (Urumqi, June 25), the National Association of Oilseed Processors (NAOP) presented data on the export of oilseed products. Over the eight months of the current season (2024/25), the export of vegetable oils and meal/cake to China increased by 95% compared to the same period of the previous season, reaching 480 thousand tons worth $326 million. The NAOP forecasts an increase in supplies to 700 thousand tons in the 2025/26 season — twice as much as in the 2024/25 marketing year. Kazakhstan ranks second among sunflower oil suppliers to the Chinese market and is among the top three exporters of sunflower meal.
Given the established logistics and expanded customer base, the NAOP expects that in the next 2-3 years, the volume of exports of vegetable oils and high-protein feeds to China may exceed 1 million tons per year.
