Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Russia, Andrey Razin, at the XIII Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Minsk (June 25-26), stated that Russia has seen an increase in self-sufficiency with seeds for sugar beets, soybeans, rapeseed, and sunflowers. According to him, in 2025, record indicators were achieved for soybeans, rapeseed, fruits, and berries, and the production volumes of sugar beets, potatoes, vegetables, and grapes increased. Razin noted the need for further development of joint projects in breeding and seed production, especially for oil crops, as well as in the field of biotechnology and agricultural engineering. Among the priorities are reducing dependence on imported technologies, developing domestic breeding, biotechnology, production of veterinary preparations, and agricultural machinery.
The importance of adapting agriculture to climate change and increasing the efficiency of land use was also emphasized.
