New Compound Feed for Camels

The Kazakh Research Institute has developed a new compound feed for lactating camels, which has shown positive results in increasing milk productivity and quality.

Scientists from the Kazakh Research Institute of Food and Processing Industry have developed the first domestic extruded compound feed for lactating camels with a biologically active supplement based on wormwood. Over four weeks, researchers studied the effect of the new compound feed on the milk productivity of the animals. The results showed an increase in the average daily milk yield by 100 ml per camel. Additionally, the quality indicators of milk improved: the fat content increased by 1.92%, protein by 1.52%, and dry skimmed milk residue by 0.91%.

The introduction of the new compound feed will allow increasing the efficiency of camel milk production and expanding the use of domestic plant raw materials in the feed industry.
