1.5 million hectares treated against locust pests

1.5 million hectares treated against locust pests, 70% of forecasted area; 2.2 million hectares planned for 2025, down 30% from 2024; improvements include drone purchases and a new app.

Chemical treatments against locust pests continue in the regions. As of June 29, approximately 1.5 million hectares, or 70% of the forecasted area, have been treated. This year, it is planned to treat 2.2 million hectares, which is 30% less than in 2024. This has become possible due to comprehensive work carried out with the support of the Government and significant improvements in the plant protection system.

To enhance the effectiveness of locust pest control, the technical fleet of the phytosanitary service has been updated, 103 drones have been purchased, and the "FITOCENTRE" application has been launched.
