300 billion tenge allocated for livestock development in 2026

Kazakhstan approved livestock development plans for 2026-2030, allocating 300 billion tenge for preferential lending this year. The sector's gross output reached 3.8 trillion tenge in 2025. New credit products support breeding stock, working capital, and pasture infrastructure, with additional funding for veterinary infrastructure and salary increases.

The Government of Kazakhstan has approved Comprehensive Plans for the Development of Livestock and Veterinary Services for 2026–2030. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin at a ceremonial event dedicated to the Day of Veterinary Service and Livestock Industry Workers. This year, 300 billion tenge has been allocated for preferential lending programs in livestock farming. Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov noted that by the end of 2025, the gross output of the livestock sector reached 3.8 trillion tenge, an increase of 3.3%.

Under the Comprehensive Plan, new preferential credit products "Igilik", "Bereke", and "Zhaylau" have been launched for the purchase of breeding stock, replenishment of working capital, and development of pasture infrastructure. State support measures for reproductive technologies and incentives for breeding livestock are also being strengthened. 66 billion tenge has been allocated for the construction and modernization of veterinary infrastructure facilities, laboratory equipment, and vehicle upgrades. An additional 22 billion tenge will be directed towards increasing salaries for veterinary specialists.
