36.6 Thousand Hectares of Unused Agricultural Land Seized in Aktobe Region

The Department of Land Resources Management in Aktobe Region seized 36,600 hectares of unused agricultural land in Shalkar District after the owner failed to comply with a directive to address violations. The court ordered the compulsory seizure, returning the land to state ownership.

The Department of Land Resources Management of the Aktobe Region, under the Committee for Land Resources Management of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, found during an unscheduled inspection that an agricultural producer had not used a land plot of 36,600 hectares in the Shalkar District for its intended purpose. The owner was issued a directive to eliminate the violations, which was not fulfilled within the deadline. The department filed a lawsuit with the specialized inter-district economic court of the Aktobe Region for compulsory seizure. The court granted the claim, and the plot was forcibly seized and returned to state ownership.

Work to identify and return unused agricultural land continues.
