The Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance informs that the transition period, during which products (packaged in retail and/or industrial packaging for further processing) may be supplied to Azerbaijan without labels/explanatory leaflets containing a translation into Azerbaijani, has been extended until July 1, 2027. This decision was made by the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency. Goods must be imported accompanied by stickers containing a translation of the information into Azerbaijani. For small-volume products where the packaging size makes it difficult to include information in multiple languages, applying a sticker to the outer packaging is permitted.
To optimize labeling, it is recommended to use the "short sticker (product name and expiration date) + QR code" model, which provides access to mandatory information in Azerbaijani in accordance with Article 17 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Food Safety.
