Rosselkhoznadzor, together with the governors of Russia, is working to regulate the safety of animal products obtained from private subsidiary plots (PSPs). The service informed the heads of the regions about the presence in the areas of PSPs that have more than 50 and 100 heads of farm animals registered in the "Horriot" component of the Federal State Information System "VetIS". If products from PSPs are intended for sale, regional veterinary services must ensure safety measures, including control over movement accompanied by veterinary documents confirming quality and safety. Veterinary specialists identify non-compliance with the requirements for managing PSPs, including mandatory accounting and tagging of cattle and small ruminants, as well as the organization of activities involving hired workers, which is illegal for PSPs as a family-based form of entrepreneurship.
