The territorial inspection of the KGI in the APK of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Zhambyl region prevented an attempt to import batches of infected fruit and vegetable products into the country. During phytosanitary control at the "Korday" automobile checkpoint, specialists identified hazardous quarantine objects in vehicles arriving from the Kyrgyz Republic. In a batch of fresh plums weighing 800 kg, the Comstock mealybug was detected, and in two batches of cherries with a total weight of 1,450 kg, the Asian fruit fly was identified. The infected products were deemed hazardous and returned to the senders in the Kyrgyz Republic, and administrative measures were taken with the imposition of fines.
