As part of a joint action plan signed between the Plant Protection Committee under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan (CGI in APK MSK RK) and the Department of Plant Protection and Quarantine of the Kyrgyz Republic, joint phytosanitary measures have been carried out in the border areas of both countries. A Kazakh delegation visited Kyrgyzstan, where the parties conducted phytosanitary monitoring, surveyed land for grasshopper pest outbreaks, and established an operational information exchange mechanism between relevant services. Special attention was given to coordinating chemical treatments, synchronizing preventive measures, and preparing specialized equipment, material and technical resources, and chemical agents. Currently, control and survey activities have been intensified, and readiness for protective actions has been ensured.
Both sides reaffirmed their intention to continue cooperation in phytosanitary security and further implement joint measures against grasshopper pests.
